Wolf Point, Montana

Wolf Point is a small community of approximately 2,800 people located on the Ft Peck Indian Reservation in northeastern Montana. Approximately 6,000 members of Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes reside on the Reservation which is approximately 2 million acres in size. Temperatures on the Reservation can exceed 100 ° F during the summer months while wind chill can drive winter temperatures to -60 ° F or lower.

While temperatures on the Reservation can be extreme the isolation for those living there can be challenging as well. With the closest shopping mall 300 miles away in Billings, trips to Walmart, Costco and fine dining are not part of the typical routine.

While life in northeastern Montana may not be similar to anywhere else in the US, it does provide for plenty of outdoor activities like fishing, hunting, horseback riding, bike riding, kayaking, gardening and much more. Within an hours drive you can be at the Canadian border with even more things to do. Life here is a bit slower and friendlier, people enjoy each other and with a little creative thought you can stay as busy as you want. This is ‘Big Sky’ Country and home to our Native American brothers and sisters for hundreds of years.
